Sounds like a bootleg to me. If I'm not mistaken the Elektra release had a white disc, but I'm not completely sure, I would need to check that. If the pictures are lacking, then that's a pointer in the direction of a bootleg too. Could you send me some scans maybe of the back sleeve and the disc? Front sleeve too if possible, but is not so important. Cheers!

Sorry, but I don't know any besides eBay. I'm not that interested in bootlegs, I prefer original material. But occasionally I buy bootlegs, but then they are of live performances only really. Sorry that I can't be of much help here.

PIAS stands for Play It Again Sam. PIAS is present in several countries, but mostly in the Benelux. If you've got a PIAS Benelux release then it is most of the time written somewhere in the little letters, otherwise it will just state PIAS. PIAS is also present in Sweden for instance. A lot of the PIAS releases come from The Netherlands. This is also where they arrange the promotional copies. I hope this answers your question.

No need for scans I think. Inscriptions cannot be seen on scans really unless you would fill them with white powder. There are at the moment two different illegal versions around. The one with the word Androids instead of Android is easy to recognize, on the other one the A-side and B-side labels are for as far as I can tell identical to the original, so I'm afraid that scans are not neceserry. If you would like an original copy, then e-mail me with an offer since I have one spare one.

July 03, 2002, 09:58:30 AMQuoteOr it could be an original of which the sleeve got lost ;p The one mentioned above though comes in not just an XL-Recordings housing sleeve, it's one which is still stickered with the original What Evil Lurks sticker which is very nice I think. I bid on it earlier, but the price is getting too high for it seeing the fact that I already have two originals. Might bid again though ;)
The sleeve is original.. those black sleeves are fake ones..

I'm always willing to sell my whole collection. What are you offering? ;p As for obtaining a credit card, I know people in your country who have VISA. Go to their web site, write them and ask them how you can get a VISA too.

I'm sure that if you ask the sellers before you bid that quite a lot of them will ship to your country. I know people in 'worse' countries sort of speak who order at eBay without any problems, so why not you.
There are also plenty of other web shops out there who sell to a lot of countries. Take for instance Amazon, CDNow, et cetera. They all ship to Estonia for as far as I know and if not, then please prove me wrong.
If everyone would just download all the music, then we would never get new music since the artists wouldn't have any income anymore.
If you still don't want to buy these items, then contact each other privately and discus how you can rip of the band that way. Have fun.

I'm not trying to disagree either. Just giving my ten cents, and with my ten cents, my two cents is free... ;) I should stop listening to that Eminem ;p I agree with that, if you know that there are only x other people who can have it too, it makes it more special. I've once thought about buying a lot of those Firestarter jukebox copies. There are only 500 of those in the world and I've seen so many of them for sale quite cheap, that I would have had a lot of them by now which would be funny ;) "Yeah, I own 100 of the 500 copies" ;p

Even if the amount of copies is low, it doesn't always have to mean that the item is rare. Take for instance the jukebox promotional copies of Firestarter or Breathe. There are only 500 copies of each, but both are still available for low prices. The same goes for these Baby's Got A Temper promotional records which are sold by XL-Recordings. The fact that XL-Recordings sells them themselves makes it even less rare since normally you can't buy them from them.
I've seen so many of these new XL-Recordings promotional copies for such low prices, that at the moment I wouldn't call it rare. Maybe in a year or so it will be more rare. But well, like I already mentioned, take a look at those more recent jukebox promotional copies. It's been years ago that they have been released and they aren't worth that much.
An original What Evil Lurks is worth more than one of those new Baby's Got A Temper promotional copies which are sold now by XL-Recordings, whereas of those original What Evil Lurks records there have been around 7000 made and of these new promotional copies 900 lets say.
How hard something is to get is how rare it is. The more are made, the easier it is to get most of the time. But if you take a look at the example above, you will see that this is not always the case. In Dutch we say 'what the idiot is willing to pay for it', that also raises the value. And of course, is an item wanted by the public?
(I hope my reply made sense ;)

I've heard numbers between 700 and 900 in total, but I've seen boxes full of them everywhere so somewhere in my mind it says that it's more than that really... Anyway, XL-Recordings said if I'm not mistaken that there were 900 of them or something like that, but I would need to check to make sure. On a side note, it's not XL-Recordings who gave them out, it's Liam Howlett himself. XL-Recordings only does the selling; the shipping, promotion, handling and all that.

Can't be called that new since it has been out for more than a week already. I have to admit that XL-Recordings is doing a good job though for the collectors out there by selling some too for this price...! :)

Collectors / Re: Do you collect Prodigy material?
April 05, 2002, 03:18:52 PMQuoteWouldn't it become a mess if everyone would just post messages where they want to? There is a reason why this board has been set up in different topics as it is. If you want to talk about samples for instance, you would post it to the Samples topic. This prevents the board from becoming a mess and it is easier this way for people to find answers, information, keep an eye on the subjects of their choice, et cetera.
As for posting it in the wrong thread, must have got mixed up a little, i am very sorry wont happen again didn't realise that you have to have everything in its rightful place, bit of a perfectionist freak are you
Your remark isn't that friendly. It is merely a question of common sense and a form of (n)etiquette to post messages where they belong. Everyone makes mistakes. I don't hold a grudge against you for posting to the wrong topic and thread, I only mentioned it so that you will pay more attention to where you post next time. No need to react sarcastically.

April 03, 2002, 04:36:10 PMQuoteI'm sorry but I don't understand you're posting really...
While you all trade insults about who's got the best collection,
I may be able to clear something up regarding this so called
"brainstorm" track.
It was actually titled "Rock n' Roll". Dont ask how i know this but i am 99.9% sure that was its live title(as it was never released).
I have a strange recollection actually that it was on a prodigy setlist scanned in a mag years ago(similar to the recent Q mag BDO one!).
Hope this clears things up
Brainstorm is a non existing title for as far as I know. It is a fan given title to a live track. If I would call Babys Go A Temper something like Temper on my web site or on a bootleg, then that would be a fan given title since it is not the official title for the track. The same is the deal with this so called Brainstorm track; it is a fan given title.
The problem with such titles is that what you understand by the song Brainstorm might be something completely different than someone else. Rock 'n' Roll can have been referred to as Brainstorm. The official title is Rock 'n' Roll though.
I don't think that your posting was made to the right thread. It would have been more appropriate under Tracks I think, but I will leave it here for now.
