i'm too young for Sex Pistols :D

Nobody's too young for the Pistols...

Don't know, about three four years ago, I would have jumped around like shite if somebody turned up one of the older Chem's records, but it somehow lost its glance.
It's not that I heard it too much over the years, I'm just 'out' of it. Damn pity, when I think back to the days, lying on the grass in the sun, Chemical Brothers roistering out of the box, everybody dancing or just having a pleasent time...
That was great.
The crap is, it's not even ME who is responsible for not liking this Big Beat stuff anymore, it just evolved out of me over the years without asking for my permission.
I'm pretty sure though this won't happen to my relationship with Prodigy's music, it's just a complete different class.

It's highest time for new music and I don't only think of the Prodigy by saying that.

Cheerio to the past

To be honest, I can't hear the Chems or Fatboy or most works of the (good) old BigBeat-era anymore, kinda fed up, kinda grown out I guess.

I got stuck with Bossa Nova and good old 70's Funk, oh gotta leave, more later

No no no! I remember too...!   lol

Does anyone know the track "Window in the sky" from Acen?
Looovely!

And else Baby D is sooo great!

Do you know a good website related to the early 90's Breakbeat-stuff?

Wanna get back into that vibe...

P.s.: Your Funky Shit-rmx was extreme. How did you record it?
Sounds quite professional.

Yes, Sex Pistols are brilliant, unfortunately I failed to buy the album for a few bucks some day ago.

ADF is great as well, as is Hardnox, as is Crystal Method (have you heard the new album? Wow, what an evolution!).

I prefer the old Guitar-legend-stuff, like Steve Vai or Joe Satriani. Else I like Guns'n'Roses (yeah, I know, but the first album is very very good), my own stuff and some finnish music a friend sent me.
And of course The Chemical Brothers.

I left the electronic-music scene a little.
Used to hear Fatboy Slim a while ago, but nowadays I know it just sucks donkeyballs.

Croatia or something.

Germany did the highest goal-score today, amazing, since they suck so bad lately.

I hope it'll be an outsider, don't like the big teams winning the cup, my, that was scary last time with france...

Not that I care anyway.
I love cats, not soccer.

I'm still a fan but not as manic as before, might change when the new album comes, but for now I'm a little bit exhausted with this theme, it's not because of the new tracks or something.

I just want to take it back to the beginning,
it's festival-time soon, I'm going to discover some really unknown music and play air-guitar while shouting some real rock lyrics instead of waiting for the next sample to sing along.

You should check out the OST from Boondock Saints then, good and pure shit.

actually, there are so many bands that i have to say i like their old stuff, but not new... i'm so tired of my playlist... pretty sad....

It's just always the same, isn't it?
Nearly every glory band developes like this.
GNR, Def Leppard, Chem Bros, Die Happy, Fatboy Slim, Prodigy?, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, etc.

Playlists playlists, I just started to listen to CD's again
(those silver sparkling discs), technology is taking so much away from the original music-listening-feeling.
Ban Frauenhofer, I say.

Heya everyone

I'll use the momentary silence to retreat a while from the forum and from being a full on Prodigy-fan, feels like I've gotten stuck with that a bit.
I just want to get more curious again, banned all the Prodigy-tracks from my playlists, replaced them with 'real' Rock and less electronic but more handmade music.
I'm not going to let my hair grow, wearing leather-clothes and going to Metal-clubs though...
just to Rock-clubs.

Very refreshing

So seeya,
cheers -

Off Topic / Gonzales, anyone?
May 26, 2002, 02:54:30 AM
Pheew.

I was out tonight to see Gonzales and I don't know what to say, really.
Maybe some of you know 'Take me to broadway', nice one, but not very close to what they sound like usually. It's more like the one track to be at least a bit chart-suitable.
Don't know where to start, they had a very cool 70's electro-sound, then sometimes more 90's HipHop-stuff and just everything, dunno.
But the one thing fascinating me so bad was this babe, Feist.
Okay, sorry, babe sounds no good here. It was the most cutest girl I saw for ages. And such a good voice, very trained.
The show was amazing, they were entertaining the crowd all the time, the dude (Chilly) put on more and more clothes over the show. At the end he was sweating like a pig and had like about 6 different pieces of clothes on.
The text and everything was so funny, and this chick went through the crowd (yes, there are still bands out there who do that) and gave me and my buddy the hand, I think I was blushing immediately...
We tried to get autographs later and searched everywhere for them, but their manager said: Nope.
So we tried to infiltrate the building from the basement, fortunately I job at this club from time to time, so I could get a way there, but they didn't let anyone in at the backstage area.

I then met them at a local food-store, lucky me!
And Feist gave me her hand again, ususally I'm not very shy, but I was shaking all over...
Finally got my autograph and talked to Feist wo seemed to be together with Chilly, as she said he might get a bit jealous.

If you wanna check them out, they are on the Kitty Yo label.
I think there are just one or two tracks at Audiogalaxy available, one is a coop with peaches called
Hot Pink Hot Sex, IIRC

Good to get it out...

Cheers

Sorry if this seems silly, but I just have to tell you what tunes I think are the greates party smashers of all time.
This is also backed up by lots of sunny mooded people knowing the tracks inside out and still loving them:

Thievery Corporation - Libanese Blond
More Rockers - Million Zillion Billion (or something like that)
Die Moulinettes - Herr Rossi sucht das Gl

I like that with the ICQ-number... Why don't you just write it on a white shirt? It'll get a nice nasty taste when written by yourself in wry fonts.

@ T-shirt-hell I especially liked the one saying 'tight', displaying a small flower... Yeah, I know, this a bit proletario-like and silly... but it's nice offending and it matches my humor. Baaah.

Oh Oh, or the one saying 'I fucked the girl in Hanson'... ts...

oh yeah, i'm trying to imagine my midi keyboard... very very far... Smith's arms goes lower and lower... ARGH! *cough* god damn, i'm so jealous atm! god, help me, dude!

I know that feeling and lemme tell you: You have to stop fantasizing when you catch yourself rubbing at the radiator, trying to simulate the feel of the cold flawless metal a nice jp8080 is made of, mhhhhm... blue painted metal, so smooth, mhhm...uh yeah, that is so good darling...

I was in Surgut's music store, there is some stuff like "Korg" with N-number of instruments without any synthesis, or just grand piano for $20000, or some mixer for $4000...
Making music is (-if you wanna use hardware-) the most expensice hobby I could think about. Okay, some peeps collect poststamps for a few thousand quid, but that's just plain mad...
I always start to shake like crazy when I see those phat synthies in the stores, all the huge mixers and so on.
I mean, I see and use this stuff all day at school, I know most machines inside out, but it's different when you see that gear in a STORE, where you could BUY it and really take it HOME to USE it. Pheew, when I'm finally rich someday, I'll buy every focking instrument on this planet just to look at it and touch it and sneak around it, hold it in my arms when I go to bed and kiss it goodbye when I leave at morning just to give it a warm "Hiiii, I'm back, darling!" when I come home in the evening.
I don't need or want a damn Ferrari, I want a corner full of electrosmog, full of energy, full of keyboards and compressors and everything.
Got carried away again, man, I really have to control myself a bit already.

btw, i'm just wondering how many musicians at the board? how many of them knows/uses modules/trackers? i just got some stuff/links/info/thoughts about it sometimes and dunno should i post about it here...
Just try out. The Musicians / Equipment-section is lame as hell anyway at the moment.
I've got a couple of good links too, we could share knowledge and maybe soon some people will turn up who'll join into the section.

Well, that thing with the trust and the post is really a hinderance. It seems the only chance is to wait for smith (or someone else from Moscow) to come over and bring the kb?

Quote
yeh, i know that thing very well... i remember got something like "yeh, man, it seems like you're in a deep shit, but keep fight, yeh, but, i don't want talk to you, get lost."

Yeah, that's typically human kind.
I use to have a little nerv-disease, and the only shit you hear when someone asks you why you're jumpy as fuck or fell asleep in the tram once again is stuff like "Oh, okay, sorry then. Can I get infected by that?"
No. It's a damn NERV-disease.

In first place they don't give a shit about you and most of them are about as smart as a stone.

If you find a way to get more independent, then tell me and I'll find a good mansion to execute the plan...
