Yaarrr, nice work!

SMBU / Crazy-Man sample, heh?  ;)

The fanfare-like sample (?what is that?) is wonderful and the wild granular-like drum-freakups sound really good.

Maybe some additional wirrly synth would fit!

I still got the two tracks you sent me a whiiiile ago (something with "tubby" in it and some other tune) and I think they are gems.
Honestly, a decade ago, you could have had a place in the upper experience-style artist-community.

I had a listen to the tribute album from brainkiller.it, some tunes are very cool, but some are really mainstreamy trance-sounding crap. maybe good as well, but didn't fit on it.

as for the conquering:
why don't you get some place at one of those mp3-artist-"promotion" sites?  :D ???

I absolutely love that idea and I know Stuff will come first or something..

I really wonder how your shit sounds right now, heard someting about 1,5 years ago or so and I was on fire  :o :-X

I have one track here that might fit, but it's not redy yet.
It's a collabo with someone from a gothic-band, so it sounds a bit like HIM-Vox over Prodge-Synths with ChemBros-Beats and some Massive Attacky-like arrangement in the breakdown..

But maybe it's crap, I can't remember, it started a couple of months ago, as joke.

Stuff, set up a website and conquer the world, will ya?
I'll promote the site in Germany ;D

Chin Chin!

General talking / Re: Altern 8 vs The Prodigy

A friend and me did a rather ridiculous remix of evapor8, fully accoustic, no machines, just him on the Les Paul and me singin.
Very soft and slow.
It's called the Evapoblues and sucks so bad.

But sometimes, when we're bored, we invent new versions of it, so far we've got the Evapofunk with a nice slapped bass
and a Fairy-sounding kind of Evapo.

Yeah, I know.

Yeah, but try to find those 2.8" babies...
The S700 used them as well and I searched a whole lifetime for them... Bad bad QuickDisks!

The S612 actually had faders for determining the loop-points *krrrk*krrrrrk*

Which is sooo funny to use!
Plus it was black. All the other Akai-stuff is greeyyyyy.
I plan on buying an old MPC2000XL in the near future, it just rounds this terrible MIDI-latency off. Sort of.
Hell, we need a new standard...

Right, I always buy my stuff at eBay or other Auction-sites.
Mostly, if I sell, I'll do it at eBay, but buying things, I rather look at the smaller sites, they usually aren't as expensive as eBay.

I'm selling @ eBay.de
I just found some SP1200 and SP12 Turbos at eBay.com and it really brings the tears up... Such lovely machines, such horrifying prices... *buuhhhuaaa*

I definitely need one of those old HipHop-machines right now.
Can't match the phatness of an old SP1200-BD...
My...

I can't understand why any cat would sell his SP, ever...
Well, there aren't many around, so...

*sigh* better go to bed now.
Cry a little bit.
Sleep. Wake up, cry a lil bit more.
Go out and think about the SP. Nervous breakdown.

Right, it lies in the viewers eye...
I'm just selling my old AKai S700 on eBay and I think it is quite a simple and easy machine, that can do pretty much nothing.
But the ease of use is incredible. I wish every other sampler would be like that.
Even the s1000 lacks the comfort.
I wonder how much it will get me....

Wa?

No man, no way.
Nobody could use that.
The w-30 is just a keyboard with a bad sampler section and a sequencer, plus a minimal syntheziser.
All the synthesizer-stuff on it is very old and can be found in every simple (-more or less-) software sequencer.
Sampler and sequencer on pc: get cubase or a tracker or something.
Or just get the original w-30. It's cheap.

Whoever is REALLY really good at understanding techno Synths.

If any of you heard of BT's track "Tao Of The Machine" it was featured on "Blade II" soundtrack, now...if you dont have it could please download it or something and help me with the synth or whatever it is...ok The track is supposed to be only 3:16 it's the original full version so, Please listen real carefully for the background sound starting at 36 seconds throughtout 42. It repeats 3 times. Tell me what is it? what instrument creates that kind of Loop or sound or whatever it is! I really want to know!!!

Hi Firestarter, that's quite simple, it's just a Roland TB303.
Maybe some FX behind.
And yeah, it could be Rebirth as well, you can't tell.
If you want to create sounds like this, look at ebay for a used TB303 and pay a shitload of money for a 25 year old machine and get Kenton Midibox as well, or just d/l Rebirth 338 for PC, it features 2 of them as software-versions plus another old Roland-achine from the same time, the TR909, the ultimate drumcomputer for retrofreaks and others.

Good track by the way, I always hated The Roots, but this is cool. Nice flute sound in the beginning!

Cheers

P.s.: Listen all, if you ask me, it's about time to hand Arie our
"loveliest-dude-on-the-board"-award out, what do you think?

[I always hope that 'lovely' only means what *I* mean, and *I* mean "nice" and "friendly" and so on, lol]

Quotescooter is gay...house is not for me , or at least most of it...

I think I wrote it down in the equipment-list some time ago.
I haven't bought anything new up til now, I moved into an expensive city, i have to save every penny... :-(

No no, I remember now, former My Bloody Valentine leader Kevin Shields....the guy is a maniac for distortion man
Right, the credits read Andy as the official producer, but Kevin was involved as well - good choice.

Well I have to admit, when liam said he liked the new linkin park remix album, I nearly choked. Nu-Metal is bad enough, but when a band calles in a load of hasbeen producers to remix their stuff, you just know thats its a total money making sham, I believe Dj premier mixed most of the tunes for linkin park, Dj premier is so past his best, he peaked with his work for gangstarr.....
Yeah, I reacted as well. There were about three tracks on that album going down very well.
I liked the X-ecutioners-thing for example. Typical overproduced song, but cool effects sometimes and a nice vibe.
I laughed my ass off, when I read how Liam said that "Korn are shite" -
#222
You mean Andy Weatherall?
Yeah, was it Sick City? I think it was Sick City blowing the speakers to dust with that much of a high gained distortion...
Even Korn are too afraid to distort this much.. HARR HARR!
Oh god, I wish all this Nu Metal crap would just die away as fast as it came creeping up from the ground. Alongside with Scooter, please.
Amazing, is't it? No act like this ever managed to stay alive this long. I still don't get how they do this. I think it's just because they aren't bound to a record company too much, so they don't get people ordered to help them write the songs and say them what to release on what time.
They're free and they use that. Unfortunately.
Sigh.
The world is bad.

Cheers dude!

Yeah, sorry dude, but I don't like (any form of) house too much...  :-/

I understand that it get's famous and kixx many peoples asses, but I have a little problem with straight beats.
I just can't hop on the groove, it's always the funk in the drums that carries me through a song.
Plus, you know, Scooter might seem okay to you, but where I come from (and Scooter as well), they're laughed out big time... Not that more than half of their songs are covers, they also steal like ravens from KLF for example. Cheap.
And they look shit *lol*
Really, in reality they're a bit ridiculous... :-P

Okay, sorry for being angry about them, if you like the music
then keep it up!

(My personal listeners-tip at the moment would be Primal Scream, Evil Heat. Try out 'Rise' (ultra-bizarre when heard loud!) and Sick City.)

Cheers

Yeah, really, let'em talk their mouthes fuzzy (hoho) and just watch them.
Or study them.
It's their thing, you know. Maybe they behave like full on morons, then you can laugh at them, maybe they can argue very well and diss them softly, maybe they even have a point.
Anyway, it's not your problem, because you're not in the band.
You can't just say something good and they are immediately healed of their strange Prodigy-disliking-disease.
Just nevermind.

Hi, been away for a while.. Nice to see this conversation. I have tried to build my equipment section just alone and I don't know that much about the stuff. So, if there are some kind peeps like ekko and zed, it would be nice to try make it even better.. Maybe we could try to build that more.
