Maxim - Hell's Kitchen
2000
Maxim released a single, "Scheming", on 11 September 2000, which reached number 53 on the UK Singles Chart.
'Scheming' was originally a hip hop based song which had Guru of Gang Starr on the vocals but when Liam Howlett heard the tune he changed it into experimental UK garage song. The guitar was played by Jim Davies, Prodigy's live guitarist. Scheming with Guru (unreleased version) was meant to appear on 'Hell's Kitchen' but the version which Liam Howlett made actually ended up on the album. However, there are three original masters of 'Hell's Kitchen' which include a version with Guru.
The vocals on final released version of Scheming are by Maxim's cousin Trina Allen and the beats are by Liam Howlett. In 2009 in intro.de interview Maxim told that sadly Trina Allen has passed away some years after this recording.
