To be honest, why do you think they need that 'bomb'?
They need chart success, they need to be recognized again, it doesn't mean the single will be crap, in fact I am looking forward to it.....

As I have been stressing in nearly every post in this thread, I am not saying that the quality of the music has been compromised because of commercialisation, or that it will necessarily be degraded as a product of the Gallagher collaboration. I also am greatly looking forward to it.
And I don't quite follow your argument... you question my opinion that they need this 'bomb', then go on to state that they need chart success & recognition... my thought is that the collaboration is an easy way to bring those things.

hmmmm...
..although a Liam G-prodigy collaboration is certainly a media wet-yer-pants idea, i thing Noel pulled it off with the chems so their is no reason why it cant work, i actually like oasis but i think they are now past their sell by date, and this collab. may breathe(no pun intended) life into his vocals. If it is to commercial or "poppy" then it wont ever get released, it happened with the Skin(skunk anansie) track, Liam thought that was to pop so ditched it.
If its good enough it will be released.
