Ok the first time I listened to BGAT, I went holy shit that the DP beat, some people said yeh I notice it, then other people though nah that not the DP beat

so i decided to have a play around....just to see how close these beats really are....

Ive left the first loop of BGAT beats in then the DP beat kicks in...just to give you an idea on how close these beats match

right click, save target as...you know the score

It's definitive the same measure and bd, though the DP one is more crisp and full, BGAT'S bd is more in the background - and yeah - I have to confess: Although I liked the track a bit better everytime I heard it, I'm somewhat exhausted with it by now.
Dunno about buying the single, really...
Nice effort btw, Des

well its not going to have any lasting effect...its an empty release

I didnt even put any sort of effort into the little mess, just fired up soundforge and lined up the beats, took about 3 mins, I was really suprised that they matched so well

Im still going to buy it, as my collection tells a story, so ill take the bad with the good...in a way I wish I didnt expect so much of liam...I just cant help it really

I had thoughts like this as well, although I still think it's good material I'm dissapointed because of the old scheme and beats and all we talked about here, and I had to discover that BGAT somehow fades to grey with the time.
Might be because it's too detailed. Older stuff was more rough and on the point.
Must be terrible to know that there are fans outside of your studio, waiting for the 'perfect' masterpiece, doesn't matter how talented you are and what you say, that's pressuring a lot

to know that there is no any people who give a shit for your music is also terrible, trust me.
i wish i got name "prodigy" to get a record deal and release my music and ideas, but i don't have it, my stuff without loud name. but god damn, BGAT is a bad idea. Keith is a good showman, but not a singer, and Liam is not an arranger for some lyrics. i think Liam thinks too much about sounds he wants to hear, he is trying to start from the end, or from some middle point at least. he get himselft to some sounds limits, you know, "phat drums", "dirty guitars".. i think he should relax and start from zero. actually, he could do this if he works alone... but Keith comes and says: "hey Liam, i've wrote some fuckin cool lyrics, do a music for that, that would be great single!"... and of course there is a pressure.. you heard dub mix? it's the same to me if Liam would say "ah.... i don't care... anyway it will out..."
if i was in world war 2, they'd call me T-34!

this beats are not same ... BPM is very similar and base drums are in same position but the sound is very very different ... DP has more basses and better hi-hats and snares

well done, Liam! well done! so much of work you did!

p.s. dunno what's hardware Liam's using atm, but my Quasimoda enssemble for Reaktor definitely does much more of work...

From the moment I heard it I knew it was going to die in the sands of time, their really is nothing to come back to! its all well and good hearing ropey recordings of the new material, but when its on the cold steel of CD, thats when aftera month or 2 the likes of trigger, BGAT, Nuclear become ever so tiresome.... thats why I have a few worries about AONO...

as for pressure on liam, I do feel for the chap, especially when their is many fans like me that rates him so highly, I think most of us expected him to blow us a way with something as dynamic as firstarter....ok so that didnt happen....but I also feel their is a lot of pressure coming form XL to get something out....you have to admit it was all very sudden...from the version we heard at BDO to a a more beat driven in yer face version.... also putting out a single with no remix or no b side seems very suspect.

Right, I presume it'll get a bit harder for upcoming or experimental artists to chart, since those limitations concerning single-releases came up. And as for Liam, I think you can state that you don't write for your fans as often as you want, there will akways be a certain pressure coming from the waiting fanbase, at least on a subconscious level. And what Zed wrote, that he should start over again, up untill a few days I thought this was an important Prodigy-mentality, you know. But maybe BGAT fooled me and didn't proof me wrong, maybe it was just a gaffe?
Actually, I liked the live-version of BGAT so much, because it lacked the typical FOTL-atomwar-drums, it sounded very sharp and clever in my ears. If he had stayed with that version, the overall fan-response might haven't been like "we heard this about five years ago".
I wouldn't mind if The Prodigy would loose a little bit of the power on the drums, it's not all about phat drumhits.
This energy everyone is mentioning when talking about Prodge comes more from the tight sound itself and the samples and the way Liam treats his synthesizer, mixing and maybe the arrangement. Rough or direct, but not really 'phat', is what I'd say to the (drum-)sound on Jilted. I never thought you could do something like that with a TR909 and a plate reverb.
I'd say Zed had the right formula at hand: Liam limited himself with his self-setted boundaries.

I wouldn't mind if he was to sit down, thinking about breaking new grounds again. That would of course mean no new album until 2004 or something...
Would be worth it anyway.
It's so hard to do something really earth shattering nowadays.
Let's pray that Zed & I get contracts soon... HARHARHAR

starting over again would be the ideal approach, ive no doubt about that, I wouldnt mind waiting another few years if it meant the prodigy going out with a real bang...

But I just think liam has adopted THAT sound now, those phat nicely rounded off digitized beats and gritty guitar samples are what the prodigy are about now, and can we blame liam on sticking with them??? after all its won him a No1 album in the states, and will probably do so again, given the current trend of music in america, ie linkin park and shite like that

its just a real shame that a musical talent like liam has cornerd himself...in saying this...the album could really be off the hook......but judging by trigger,Bgat, nuclear and the way the over all approach to things seem to be more Rock just makes me wonder what AONO will have to offer,

The live version of BGAT had promise, it was a step in the right direction still kind of dull....ok so keith was as dodgy as ever but the sound coming from it was different it wasnt what we are been force fed now....

it would be nice to see him rip up the rule book.

I found it well interesting what they stated in an interview lately, it was about this collab between the two Liams and said that, if the song won't be on AONO, it might get released on another project. Mhmm. I hope Liam goes into soundtrack-writing after the Prodigy, cause I see a good chance for him, especially when he's on that ambient/athmosphere trip.
Might perfectly fit into a film like Fight Club.
Alongside with Primal Scream ....ahhh, sweet dreams

dunno, i don't like BGAT in general, sounds like poors fake Crystal Method a bit, i mean these noises and stuff, actually it seems Liam became Crystal Method's fan as well. anyway I don't like any music that uses only one silly drum loop. I got tired myself, and i also won't use just one loop per song, it's a bungle. and that Liam says he can't use any his old sample source sounds pretty scarry to me. for exmaple, try to remove all samples from FOTL or MFJG, and what's sound you got then? You won't even hear 50% of drums, because Liam used to steal some drums... Liam don't want to use his sample source (because it got empty after FOTL), but his methods and technique won't work without samples. actually, i'm using the same techologies with sample using (i think so at least), and i should say i ruined 1.5 years to get some samples/idea/soft/whatever to start make new album. but i won't let it be a bungle. but dunno about Liam, if he thinks it's right direction, let it be so then, after all, who the hell i'm to judge.

QuoteI'd say Zed had the right formula at hand: Liam limited himself with his self-setted boundaries.
lights of the past has blinded Liam's eyes, and now he doesn't see where he's moving to.
and not everybody says the true, i haven't read anything with concrete critics. all the press and some "die hard fans" (most stupid category i think) screams "it rocks"... that's make all the prodigy sounds cheap. all these "scandals" about "rohypnol" and stuff are so fuckin cheap. i still think prodigy will split up, otherwise, nobody will take their "rohypnol" and "punk" seriously. nobodes does already even. i don't see any "punk" in BGAT. i see some dudes who wants to sell their stuff as soon as posibble.
QuoteI wouldn't mind if he was to sit down, thinking about breaking new grounds again. That would of course mean no new album until 2004 or something... Would be worth it anyway.
yeh, that's the point i wanted to say. but i wouldn't mind they split up right now, or at least stop touring, and stop sell their BGAT/new_image_t-shorts/otherbullshit/merchandises as well because who the hell thier fans they think are? boys/girls 14-16? i don't think so...
QuoteIt's so hard to do something really earth shattering nowadays.
yeh, but if you can't shatter the earth why to act like you can and did it already? it's silly... after all, i, personally, don't ask for earth shattering, i ask to do not sells to people a bungle, and stop to say "we're punk, you know?"...

QuoteLet's pray that Zed & I get contracts soon...
lol, yeh... get a contract... i need a few thousand of $ to get some papers and tickets, and THEN I COULD GET A CONTRACT!!!! *lmao*... Liam's trick of 1990 with sending some tape to xl won't work this time....
if i was in world war 2, they'd call me T-34!
