If they release trigger as a single, it will kill the band... The track is very poor, surely people are past that (97) sound

If they want people to stand up and take notice once more, like they did with the release of 'no good' before jilted came out or 'firestarter' before FOTL came out, they will have to release something a lot stronger then trigger, push the boundries a little, dont just settle for what has worked in the past. But as popular culture is dying, I dont think theyll have half the success the last few singles did.

I disagree totally,

firstly have you experienced "Trigger" live?? Probably not is my guess.
I was privalieged enough to go to The Avenches gig last August with a mate
and heard the new tracks. Nuclear was dire i admit (to Sex Pistols for me) but "Trigger" was awesome. You know as any real Prodigy fan does that when you get that adrenaline rush when they do such a pumped up high energy track, well my friend "Trigger" was that.
I guarantee it being a hugh hit if it is realised
to long now we have had whingers and pesimists amongst these so called "fans".
Lets see what happens and enjoy the ride!!!!

I'm positive too, but in that new interview (at Nekos page) it sounded like the single will not be one of the new live-tracks.
Fortunately, as I think, because I too think that Trigger is quite a good track, but not something that's groundbraking, like the nearly every Prodigy-single before.
The reason why I'm positive about it is, that Liam stated he'll work as long on new tracks, untill he finally will have a real smasher, a killer if you want... (hate that word)
Something that was never there, and this is the only way to pull attention back on the band, in my opinion.
I heard Trigger live, but I didn't like it very much, to be honest. I liked the athmosphere, it uses nice instruments, but you really notice that it was written in a week or so.
Tradition IS a tradition

I think that all of us has noticed that the sound of "nuclear" and "trigger" isn't new at all.
I do not remember where and when Liam told something like: "...single must be like a breaking, and you should put something really new and rocky into 4 minutes track, but the album is a wide field for experiments..."

This idea quite is clean, also we know that the first single "no souvenirs" from new album will be released in march.
According to previous information we can conclude that neither "nuclear" or "trigger" will not be released.
(It's just my personal opinion, but I also can make a mistake...)

Paul,

Sorry mate but how do you know that "No Souvenirs" is the new single to be released in March, is that official or are you speculating????

pauly b

Arie

That's a speculation. XL-Recordings only stated that they hope for a new single in March, they didn't mention any titles. No Souvenirs was said to be released some time ago. It reminds me of Wind It Up. Liam writes a tune, but once it is planned to be released it's already to 'old'. Liam said he would never do it like he did with WIU back then, so I don't think that the single will be No Souvenirs. If it will be, then it might be because of the pressure of the label and it might be an 'outdated' tune then.

neko

its not gonna be No Souvenirs.

and come on, its feb now, the single just cant be out in March.

To NEKO: "May be I am late but the 5 track in resolution dj set by Liam is Beastie Boys "Pow" (1992 Check Your Head)"

Again, this is a speculation. It is not sure/confirmed that this is in fact a version or remix of No Souvenirs.
