I found a version of cubase v5 and I'm planning to use it as my main sequencer (instead of my shitty mc-505's)

I'm starting to learn the program but it's hard.
some questions?

- Do you always use the drum edit to make your beats cos' I find it fuckin' uneasy to use.
- Ya know where I can find an online manual for cubase v.5?

I especially like the combination of the synth riff and the baby d sample. Those things together are pure paranoia and take you on an trip even without drugs.

The glass breaking plus the shouting give that sort of exploding feeling like something's in you and it really has to get out.
The beat is pure tension although I think Liam might have used some more variation on the snaredrum.
Those holding string sounds are real drugs to me. like your brain get's frozen. And those pitch variations in there are pure horror,man.
The arrangement is fuckin' dope. It's so precise and unusual that the song will never be boring for me. It's build with a lot of tension in mind.
 
The dopest beat for me is the one from poison, incredible energy for such a slow beat and the variations are incredible, although I don't like the tr-909 snare fill in there. Incredible retro bass sounds

The beat from no good is very hard to analyse, especially the sounds and the 32th notes in there. I like the bass-guitar sounding bassline in there.

It's hard to chose between those beats, most of them are unique and special. Other beats I like: hyperspeed, full throthle, funky shit, minefields (especially the combination between the drums & bassline)
 

hey man, let Des have his own meaning about the prodge. What's a group without critics? Do you want that everything that is said on this forum about prodge is positive? I can understand Des. Beachrock was shit and seems that Witnness wasn't much better. Did you saw the gigs?

st8ofbass, don't be so harsh man. It's normal that the group gets criticism from the fans after a period of nearly 5 years without a release.
We don't want the prodigy to be stucked in the rave scene but we also don't want them to be stucked in the fat of the land scene.
And from what we've heard, ( I know they are only raw live recordings but you can get an image from it) it appears that they don't really stay away from that album.
It never doubted about the genius qualities of Liam Howlett as a producer and I can understand how hard it is to be innovative nowadays. But I still trust the man and I still dream to sit in my room with a good joint while I'm listening for the first time to the new album, realizing that they can still produce a mindstabbing masterclass album.

fuck Missy Elliot, shitty commercial r 'n' b bitch, they should collaborate with rudeboy, johnny rotten,kurt cobain( only his vocals), new order,the beastie boys ( I know it's impossible), atari teenage riot,public enemy, bin laden,...

They have to drop those fuckin guitars or put them thru a guitar synth or sampler with effects. They can't become a rock group with some beats and effects

I think Maxim still got the realest presence on stage. Keith lost a lot of energy and spontanity. Maxim just stayed the same. I think you're right Arie, the prodigy won't last that long anymore, I reckon they split after the worldtour with the new album. (although I hope not, don't get me wrong on that one). Maybe it would be better for Liam to make his own music away from the prodigy without any pressure

BGAT is my least favorite. Trigger has got some potential, nice violin sounds and atmospheric chords, I like the bridges in there: the first sounds like some sort of nazi parade and the second contains some nice dissonant chords and a sliced synth line. The beats are good but miss some innovation.
Nuclear's got the energy and that's it it just got the energy although I like the end of it when the chords come in.
BGAT just sucks I just like the synth sound that goes with the childish melody.

Ok, my reaction seems a bit overreacted. I know studio recordings can sound brilliant. I just hope that Keith won't sing all over the album cos he already sings in the 3 new songs. New instruments can give the sound a new direction. I really hope that it's not only the guitar that Liam mentions.
I really like the distortion synth sounds in BGAT, sounds a bit like the noise from dentist equipment and that's not a joke.

I' m a bit afraid of the new directions they're going into. Less samples, Liam who will try to play other instruments and Keith who will sing a lot more. And baby's got a temper as the first single? I think that's a bad idea, the song is too slow and the structure is to clich

I'm glad that Jim Davies is returnin to the prodigy. Their last live shows were a bit ruined cos of the female guitarist. She looked anxious and you couldn't hear any live guitarsounds.

Hope we'll get back to gigs like on the electronic punks vid.
