Narayana is a deity, a four-armed god (I think Hinduism refers to him as also Krishna and other names. Must be 3 other names).
If you are interested in this, check out the Bhagadvad Gita, an excellent book for poeple who are interested in this religion (but don't want to be part of it.)
Really, if you want to be a real follower of this religion, you have to do so many strange things, as being happy all the day that Narayana is 'just there', and you should talk all day about him without being pissed off after a while.
Still better than some other religions... ahem.
