The first MTV Europe Music Awards were held on November 24, 1994 at Brandenburg Gate, Berlin, Germany. The MTV Europe Music Award for Best Dance was first awarded in 1994 and was given every year until 2003, and it was one of the original two genre categories that were added to the MTV Europe Music Awards that year. The big winner on this category were The Prodigy with four awards. And this was of course their first award. Jean Paul Gaultier and Naomi Campbell presented Best Dance Act award to The Prodigy.
