During the late 90’s and still in the height of Supermodels MTV had an annual event called fashionably loud. It was where the current top musicians played live during a fashion show of top selected world's biggest designers with the current crop of Supermodels. Probably one of the most memorable shows were Prodigy playing live during the British fashion pioneer Vivienne Westwood’s presentation. Keith Flint crawling around like mad man, jumping to the audience and guitarist Gizz Butt showing off on stage during Firestarter.
Westwood presented her Red Label collection on stage with a live performance from The Prodigy – the first time she had shown in the USA in over a decade. Considering Westwood's punk background, the exhilarating rock-ravers were perfect to inject a sense of no-fucks-given into the show. At the same show, Gianni and Donatella Versace showed off their Versus collection, soundtracked by trip-hop artist Tricky.
You can spot Linda Evangelista, Naomi Campbell, Bridget Hall, Helena Christensen, Eva Herzigova, Jason Olive, Cameron Alborzian and Marcus Schenkenberg.
Each artist performed three songs while models donning clothing by Versace for Tricky’s performance, Vivian Westwood for The Prodigy’s set, and Ana Molinari for REPUBICA’s songs prance around the stage. The show was taped on 30th October 1996 and was broadcasted on 3rd February 1997.
