yea i know.. it sounds like a Crazy Man/SMBU sample. But it's not - promise! It's actually a digeridoo. (Liam's sample sounds more like a lowtune brass sound, at least to me ; ).

"Ruffcut" needs a bit more work. It tends to be repetetive and lacks in some parts - i.e. it needs another synth element like you mentioned..
Though, i don't think there are 2 drum bars that are 100% identical in this song. But then, who will really notice it.

That 'anthemic' horn loop comes from the theme of "Conan the Destroyer" (1984). If you've seen this movie (and consider Arnold's acting), the horn loop is most likely to make you laugh.

The contest is over and the 'album is released'. I never made it to one of the top 13 tracks .  There was good stuff on the album for sure. Mine is more like a 'Experience'-type of track (?

I know there are some guys in here creating dope music. So visit www.brainkiller.it and check out the competition (before 15 sept).
"A copy of this album will be sent to Liam Howlett" - i guess he receive a lot of shit fan-remixes and stuff, but i really believe in this competition. It just gotta be intresting for him to receieve a cd of 12 songs voted to be the 12 best - created by fans, inspired of his music!

Evapor-8 is great, some nice "Strings Of Life" samples in it too. And i still get wet in my pants when i hear the "rave orchestral" riff in "Brutal-8-E" ;-)

Yea I see what you mean, the old ones is pretty hard to tweak. But the soundquality in them is ruffer, I just love the fatness in the beats I'm banging out from the W-30.

But I've heard that the old Akai S612 has a special function, don't remember exactly what it was.. But it was something about controlling loop-points in realtime. Some pro's still use it because of that so it just has to be cool (even tho it only is able to use one (8-bit) sample at the time, saved on 2,8" diskettes :-)

Just want to add something to this 6 month old discussion.
The W-30's sample section isn't bad at all. It's actually the best h/w sampler I've ever used. The only bad thing with it is that you only can have 14.4 seconds of sounds in it (unless you want really lo-fi sound - 32 seconds).

Would be awesome if there was one. Miracles have happened before, but i don't think someone suddenly will notice an old VHS with the first Prodigy live performance up in the attic... Unfortunately  

The oldest live tape i've got is Amnesia 1992 (in really shitty quality). I love watching and hearing them live from those days, where Liam riffs off some untuned Your Love-chords i.e.
