Title: Do you collect Prodigy material?
Post by: Arie van der Wende on October 18, 2001, 10:53:21 AM
If you collect Prodigy like I do and you are interested in a trade, then please contact me. I've got quite a nice collection set up which contains all items from CD to CD maxi single, from LP to 7 inch single, from books to videos, everything.

You can contact me by e-mail at arie@the-prodigy.org. Please visit my web site too where you can download a list of my own Prodigy collection -> www.the-prodigy.org. I haven't updated the list for a while, but most things I have are on there!

Hope to hear from you soon!

Yes. Me and my friend have almost all prodigy stuff.
We have all singels except everybody in the place, no good and firestarter.
If i could just get firestarter somehow?
If you can buy it somewhere that please let me know.
I will pay full price for  that.

You can still get a lot of items through XL-Recordings themselves. Also pay a visit to CDNow where you can find maybe some other items too.

But what I mean by collecting is something else. I collect everything by The Prodigy and related artists. Not just all the albums, singles, et cetera. I collect promotional copies, acetates, white labels, covers, et cetera.

Check www.the-prodigy.org like I wrote above and download that list there and you will see what I'm talking about. The list is a Microsoft Word document, ZIP-ed, so only a few KB's big.

Josh, which link is not working? I tried all links which I could find on this page and all work properly. Please point me in the right direction so that I can make some adjustments to the specific message(s).

Yeah, Prodigy is one of the greatest band of the millenium... I seek only one thing at the moment.. Prodigy's Brainstorm in mp3 format. When I have that I have everything I need... For a while ::) I mean that song is DYNAMITE!!! So if anyone reading this message knows where to get it, I'd more than happy if you would tell me a.s.a.p....And thank you already.

The track Brainstorm does not exist. This is a made up title by a fan just like the Jungle Remix of We Eat Rhythm is as a title. You can find this track on several live bootlegs, but I don't know by heart which ones. It won't be called Brainstorm on all bootlegs either of course, please keep that in mind. If you could upload a sample file somewhere then I can help you better and tell you on which bootleg you can find this track/link.

Please also visit my own web site at www.the-prodigy.org and click the Tracks link to find a list of all official Prodigy tracks available. There are still a few mistakes and all in this list, but if you have any questions, then please ask me again here.

I hope this helped you a bit further.

sorry, I forgot to mention something... I have a compilation that might be interesting to prodigy collectors, its name is-"the ultimate rave",it was released in 1991 by emi-virgin-polygram,it can be useful to you because it contains charly(alley cat mix 7" edit) (though the cd does not mention this name,it only puts "charly" but the song has a duration of 3.38 more or less, the same as the video)and it also contains instruments of darkness (all of us are one people) (the prodigy mix).
I bought this second hand cd only for 395 pesetas (2.40 euros) :D
if anyone wants to ask me something about this just do it!+
thanks again!

Arie you fucking shit! Those songs do exist. Jungle remix is even on 'electronic punks' and brainstorm is a live track!

Thank You Sam.  :) I did know that Brainstorm do exist and it's a live track...or at least I had strong feeling that it is so.
I heard brainstorm first in Electronic Punks (well, a soundclip anyway) and that's about the only source I've heard it, and I LOOOVE it! :D but still despite years of searching for that track I still haven't found it... And I'm still searching. :'( So, if anyone of you outhere has it (or knows where to get it) I would be very grateful if someone pass that knowledge to me.

If you'd bother to have understood what Arie said then you'd know that its the NAME of the tracks which don't exist (ie. There are NO official names for them) (Brainstorm & Jungle Mix are given the title by the fans!)

Do more research before starting flame wars on others....

Actually, those songs do exist. They have names, but they don't exist in any OFFICIAL records. I rest my case...

Sam, no need for swearing.

The Jungle Remix does not exist. Yes, there is a remix of We Eat Rhythm, but there is no official title for this remix. The name Jungle Remix is given to it by fans, not by The Prodigy.

As for Brainstorm, there is no Prodigy track under this name. There is one live track though which has been given this name by fans, but what the official name is for this link is again unknown.

But if you would have read my posting(s) properly then you would have noticed that I already said the same thing; see quote below:

Quote

I also state above that you can find this so-called Brainstorm link on several live bootlegs. What I forgot to mention is that you can find the so-called Jungle Remix on the official video Electronic Punks.

To conclude my case:
Next time please read before letting your emotions explode. Like I already wrote both tracks do indeed exist, but not under these titles. The titles are given to the tracks by fans and they have not been confirmed till this day by either The Prodigy or their management.

I don't understand you efforts in comparing the best collection, it depends on many factors, such as the place of residence and the like... I want to buy xls 26 cd, that is, everybody in the place cd with rip up the sound system!!
 :D
my newest and rarest prodigy stuff is wind it up (rewound) 12" elektra release, I bought it second hand , the u.s remixes are bollocks except forward wind, which certainly is good!
I would exchange this record as I'm not a dj for the same version on cd (if anyone is interested in this) :)

If you asked me a couple of months ago I'd have sold you one since I bought 2 of them, but sadly now there gone. Keep searchin'... That particular one sometimes occurs at ebay and I've seen it at eil.com also. You could also try gemm.com

I had troubles finding it too, I cant remember how I got my first copy but I'm sure it'll turn up for you eventually :)

The tape with 'We Eat Rhythm' is from 'Select' and not 'Mixmag'

I had 2 of these but sadly not anymore :(

I had it twice, but traded one with Neko. Now I have one left. But like Antz wrote, it's not a MixMag cassette, it's by Select Magazine. I never listen to it really. I burned a copy of it on CDR, so I always listen to that one. But it's not that hard to get hold off really... seen it quite a few times.

Last thing I heard is that one copy had been given to Jon Carter, all other records had been thrown away. As for the cassette it had been sent to several people. But I don't know anyone who has it really...

A lot of people have an original, it's not that hard to get hold off. Prices vary from 10 Pounds Sterling to 70 Pounds Sterling. If you are willing to pay that amount, then there are plenty of places to get it from.

Arie,

While you all trade insults about who's got the best collection,
I may be able to clear something up regarding this so called
"brainstorm" track.

It was actually titled "Rock n' Roll". Dont ask how i know this but i am 99.9% sure that was its live title(as it was never released).

I have a strange recollection actually that it was on a prodigy setlist scanned in a mag years ago(similar to the recent Q mag BDO one!).

Hope this clears things up

I'm sorry but I don't understand you're posting really...

Brainstorm is a non existing title for as far as I know. It is a fan given title to a live track. If I would call Babys Go A Temper something like Temper on my web site or on a bootleg, then that would be a fan given title since it is not the official title for the track. The same is the deal with this so called Brainstorm track; it is a fan given title.

The problem with such titles is that what you understand by the song Brainstorm might be something completely different than someone else. Rock 'n' Roll can have been referred to as Brainstorm. The official title is Rock 'n'  Roll though.

I don't think that your posting was made to the right thread. It would have been more appropriate under Tracks I think, but I will leave it here for now.

hmmmmm,

the reason i posted that "rock n roll" was the real title for brainstorm is that no fucker else had and someone wasn't sure that what its official title was - i therefore cleared that up.

As for posting it in the wrong thread, must have got mixed up a little, i am very sorry wont happen again didn't realise that you have to have everything in its rightful place, bit of a perfectionist freak are you???

keep smiling ;D

Wouldn't it become a mess if everyone would just post messages where they want to? There is a reason why this board has been set up in different topics as it is. If you want to talk about samples for instance, you would post it to the Samples topic. This prevents the board from becoming a mess and it is easier this way for people to find answers, information, keep an eye on the subjects of their choice, et cetera.

Your remark isn't that friendly. It is merely a question of common sense and a form of (n)etiquette to post messages where they belong. Everyone makes mistakes. I don't hold a grudge against you for posting to the wrong topic and thread, I only mentioned it so that you will pay more attention to where you post next time. No need to react sarcastically.

Arie,

Maybe my sarcasm was a bit out of order, for that i apologise.

But the only reason i gave you a bit of stick (jokingly) was you came over a bit more like a teacher telling off a naughty pupil rather than a board moderator(lol).

Hey, maybe i could be a careers advisor!!!!!!!

Sorry for about the misunderstanding once again.

Hi all,

As you can see, I'm the newbye of the forum(at least right now). To all veteran people, regards.

I'm from Spain, Canary Islands, although now I'm studying in the mainland, near Barcelona.

Being new to this forum doesn't mean I've no idea, or no material to trade with. In fact I've been trading a couple of years, but I must reckon I've been a bit inactive last year or so.

Anyway, I'm here to present myself to all you and to get possible trade contacts. You can download my list here
It's in excel format. Here is my "Listpage" address; http:\www.prodigytrade.cjb.net

I'm mostly focussed  in prodigy, chemical brothers and underworld live stuff, but also have stuff from fatboy slim, portishead, orbital, and many more.

My trade list is ALWAYS  being updated and right now I've an specially big bunch of stuff from other bands that need to be listed, so keep an eye to that link, 'cos I promise I will be updating it continously.

I'm always happy to trade with anybody from anywhere, so fell free to contact me at voodoopeople15@yahoo.com
